As hot, gaseous steam flows past the turbine&#8217; spinning blades, steam expands and cools, giving off most of the\u00a0energy\u00a0it contains.<\/p>\n<p>This steam spins the blades continuously. The blades thus convert most of the steam&#8217;s potential\u00a0energy\u00a0into kinetic\u00a0energy.
